Self-recovery Fuse
Polymer Positive Temperature Coefficient Thermistor, abbreviated as PPTC, is composed of a polymer matrix material and conductive particles. When an abnormal overcurrent passes through PPTC, the heat generated (I2R) causes the polymer matrix material to expand, and the conductive particles wrapped around the polymer matrix material will separate, cutting off the conductive channel of PPTC and increasing the resistance of PPTC, thereby reducing the abnormal overcurrent. After the abnormal overcurrent fault is cleared, the PPTC polymer matrix material contracts to its original shape and reconnects the conductive particles, restoring the conductive channel and restoring the PPTC resistance to its original low resistance state. The above process can be repeated multiple times, so PPTC, also known as a self-recovery fuse, can be repeatedly used in some circuits to reduce the cost of component damage and replacement.
The Lmidea Electronics team has been deeply involved in the field of circuit protection for many years and has rich experience in providing one-stop solutions from product selection to technical support. We integrate high-quality resources within the industry to provide customers with cost-effective PPTC products.
The plug-in PPTC has 6V, 16V, 30V, 60V, 72V, 135V, 250V, and 600V, with a current of up to 14A. The pin form can be provided in the form of inner bay, outer bending, and cutting feet. The patch PPTC can be packaged in the form of 0603,0805, 1206,1210,1812,2018,2920. Special customer requirements can also be flexibly customized.
PPTC, also known as self-recovery fuse, is composed of a polymer matrix material and conductive particles. When an abnormal current passes through PPTC, the generated heat causes the expansion of the polymer matrix material and the conductive particles to separate and cut off. The resistance of PPTC increases, thereby limiting the current flow. After the abnormal overcurrent fault is cleared, the PPTC resistor returns to its original low resistance state. PPTC can be reused in circuits, reducing the cost of component damage, repair, and replacement.
