TVS

TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressors), also known as avalanche breakdown diodes, it is a device made using semiconductor technology to integrate a single PN junction or multiple PN junctions. When applied to DC circuits, unidirectional TVS are connected in reverse parallel in the circuit. When the circuit operates normally, TVS is in the off state (high resistance state), which does not affect the normal operation of the circuit. When an abnormal overvoltage occurs in the circuit and reaches the TVS (avalanche) breakdown voltage, the TVS quickly transitions from a high resistance state to a low resistance state, releasing the instantaneous overcurrent caused by the abnormal overvoltage to ground. At the same time, the abnormal overvoltage is clamped at a lower level to protect the subsequent stage circuit from damage caused by the abnormal overvoltage. After the abnormal overvoltage disappears, the TVS resistance value returns to a high resistance state.
